a legacy of giving
Ater recently returning from a short road trip upstate, bigger plans canceled, I've decided I can never escape Pa.
That decided, I have officially begun compiling stories for the BICF.
Upon passing away, Ethel Climenhaga presented a large part of her estate to the BIC church, which she loved very much. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. John Martin, her counsin-in-law, and executer of her estate.
He was very friendly and excited about the BICF's interest in Ethel's life. He could not speak enough to the dedication to which Ethel approached the things she cared about. A dedicated teacher, she also left a large amount of money to Christian schools. Ethel came from humble beginnings and rather than inheriting or earning large amounts of money, she always saved and used what she had wisely."Always a good example," John reiterated. He gave me a few more contacts too, and I am looking forward to learning more about the legacy Ethel has left us.
